Fall Favorites

Taking inspiration from vintage style distinctly American, this motif depicts the luxury and simplicity that is Modern Retro. Using whites, grays, and bold accents of gold, jewel-tone teal, and  spicy paprika, a fresh interpretation of  mid-century modern comes to life in this remarkable and comfortable Midwestern interior. Layering menswear boucles, strong solids and  modern stripes with bright and abstract highlights on simple, clean furniture pieces presents an intriguing design paying homage to the days ruled by the Rat Pack.

Munster in transition

Today, I sit on my lovely Amtrend banquettes watching the Hampton Inn & Suites Munster Lobby transform. The Lazar barstools are so comfortable! I could sit at the community table all day. The community table is hand made of Bird's Eye Maple by wood artisan Sean Cogan. Keith from Read Window is here installing window treatments. Even with the chaos of installation, guests are excited and responding positively. The GC still has some finish work to handle, but we should be complete within the next couple of weeks. I am pleased to announce that Inkwell Design House will be designing an Upscale Guest Unit vignette for HI Connect Design 2013 at the Gaylord Opryland in April of 2013! Stay tuned for updates!!!

HI Connect 2013 seems to be on track with some positive changes for the coming show! Lots of pre-planning has taken place, and it seems that it will only get better. The idea behind the show itself is interesting -- not another regular trade show. It gives designers and manufacturers a chance to work together in crafting the possibilities.

An update for our company... we were named a 2012 Top Design Firm by Hotel Management Magazine in May of this year. Cheers!

Hot time in Fresno

Yay! Hampton Inn & Suites Fresno's Perfect Mix Lobby renovation is complete. Check out the pics! Our design intent followed updated traditional design stimulated by the luxury that is the famed Santa Barbara resort Bacara and coordinating with the standard Hampton Inn guestroom “Spice” scheme. Focusing on creams and old world russets in hue, we added scrolled iron work details and warm walnut veneers to fully pay homage to homey perfection. Bringing the true meaning of California hospitality to the Central Valley, guests will congregate to the lobby’s living room.
